Habitat for Humanity News-   Thanks to the generous support from our congregation and school, we met and exceeded our $2,500 Habitat for Humanity stewardship goal for 2020.   Every donation goes to help alleviate the severe affordable housing shortage in the Los Angeles area.  The last two of the three homes funded by Thrivent Financial in 2020 were completed on Budlong Ave in Los Angeles and received their Certificate of Occupancy on March 18th.   For 2021 Thrivent Financial is again providing primary funding for three homes in the Greater Los Angeles area for the Habitat for Humanity of Greater Los Angeles Affiliate, making them the 22^nd through 24^th homes funded since 2006. One will be on 109th St and the other two on 94th St in South Los Angeles.  Opportunities for volunteering at Habitat build sites are still suspended since mid- March 2020 because of the Covid-19 pandemic but the restrictions are expected to be relaxed in the near future as more folks are vaccinated. TLC's pledge for the Habitat Mission for 2021 has again been approved for $2,500 at the March Council meeting and generous offerings have continued to come in to help meet our annual goal.
