A Message Our Outreach Pastor...
In her own words... Hello! I am so happy to join in outreach with you at Trinity! Meeting new people with God's Good News is the passion of my life. When I was eight years old (in 1979), I started telling everyone, "I want to be a pastor and a missionary. I know Jesus is the greatest treasure of my life, and I want my life to be sharing Jesus all the time!" Thanks to God, my prayers were answered and my dream came true. I graduated from Luther Seminary in 1997, and my whole pastoral ministry (13 years so far) has been filled with sharing Jesus with people. I am an ordained ELCA pastor, daughter of an ELCA pastor and married to an ELCA pastor. I love Church. I love the name of your youth ministry, "Lighthouse" because I see every church as a lighthouse. I want every church to shine brightly during our generation now and for hundreds or thousands of years until Jesus returns. I want every church to last even longer than my own life. I hope we all live good long lives as well! My husband, Pastor Kristian Johnson and I live in Inglewood where he is the pastor of First Lutheran Church / Iglesia Luterana Mi Salvador. When we moved to California, 4 ½ years ago, First Lutheran Church had about 30 members. Now we worship God with an average of 115 per weekend, with a Spanish service and 18 new ministries started. We are excited about what God is doing! Our family has grown in California from 3 to 5! We have a daughter Hope (age 6), a son Emanuel (age 4) and a baby Xavier (age 8 months) who are excited for Sunday School at Trinity. Anyone from Trinity who comes along on evangelism visits Thursdays at 6 pm will get to know baby Xavier. It's amazing how many people stop to see the baby and hear about Trinity! Our family just moved to our new home at 8721 South 6th Avenue, Inglewood, CA 90305-2411. We will invite everyone over for a house blessing as soon as we're unpacked! I am especially excited to invite you all to join me for Adult Sunday School and prayer for Trinity outreach on Sundays at 9:45 am starting September 19. The more we let God join us together as a net for evangelism, the more people we can reach throughout Hawthorne and beyond! Please come next Sunday!
